Over the years, we’ve worked with a wide variety of charitable organizations and participated in many local events—all with the express aim of helping the community that we love so much. We invite you to learn more about our recent community involvement below.
St. Paul Winter Carnival
Hamernick’s has been a long time supporter of the Coolest Celebration on Earth, the Saint Paul Winter Carnival. Our owner, Ted Natus, was King Boreas the LXVII in 2013 and since then has gone on to support the 2017 Ice Palace, many Royal Family members over the years, and various events throughout the Celebration. We’re excited to be back in 2024! Hail BOREAS! 💙
Extraordinary Volunteer Leadership Award
Congratulations are in order for Hamernick’s Director of Multi-Housing, Cory Roed, on receiving the Minnesota Multi-Housing Association’s (MHA) “Extraordinary Volunteer Leadership” award this past week. Thank you, Cory, for all you do to support Hamernick’s Flooring Solutions and the Twin Cities community!
The Santa Project
For the 15th consecutive year, myTalk 107.1 – Minneapolis/St. Paul hosted the Santa Project, asking their listeners to donate gifts to brighten the holidays for RMH families. Delivery Day was in early December and boy—did they ever deliver! Hamernick’s was proud to join Chanhassen Dinner Theatres, The Breast Center of Maple Grove, Surdyk’s Liquor & Cheese Shop, Twin Cities Closet Company, The Children’s Theater, Creative Hair Design, Southern Lights, and Galleria Edina in hosting Santa Stops. Thanks to the entire myTalk team and their generous listeners for donating more than $15,000 in gifts—what an amazing effort!
Aeon Bricks and Mortar
Our Multi-Family Housing team was in attendance at the Aeon Bricks and Mortar event. Hamernick’s is proud to support an organization that works diligently to bring affordable housing to the Twin Cities! Since 1986, Aeon has built, purchased, or renovated more than 5,800 apartments and townhomes, providing stability to more than 17,000 people each year in the Twin Cities area. And thanks to supporters like YOU, Hamernick’s was able to match $20,000 of donations to help cover the increased cost of security and crime prevention at Aeon Homes.
Robbinsdale Armstrong Boys Basketball
Hamernick’s is a proud sponsor of the Robbinsdale Armstrong boy’s basketball team! Robbinsdale Area Schools offer a variety of co-curricular and extracurricular athletics and activities designed to meet the interests of middle and high school students. Participation in an athletic team can be a valuable and rewarding experience, adding to a well-rounded education.
Bikes4Kidz
On Halloween night, 2021, thousands of dollars worth of bicycle tools, computers, and supplies were stolen from Bikes 4 Kids—a Ham Lake, MN-based organization that works tirelessly to help kids ride into a happier, healthier childhood by providing bikes to those most in need. Hearing this tragic story, Hamernick’s VP Troy Natus delivered a check the very next day for $13,000 to their Executive Director, Tia, to help cover the costs.
Troy’s Bench Memorial
In January 2022, Hamernick’s VP Troy Natus’ life was tragically cut short. To honor the life and legacy of their son, owners Ted and Lynn Natus sponsored multiple memorial benches at the MN State Fair, with the proceeds benefitting the MN State Fair Foundation. Every summer, Troy’s friends, family, and former coworkers stop by the benches to remember him.
Habitat for Humanity
In 2022, while in the process of reorganizing our warehouse on Rice Street in St. Paul, our team identified a large surplus of flooring materials. Recognizing that it was all still in pristine condition, Hamernick’s contacted the Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity. We’re proud to say we donated two truckloads of carpet for their efforts to help families build and improve places to call home.
2022 Sal & Francesca LoBaido Volunteer Service Award
The Sal & Francesca LoBaido Volunteer Service Award is presented to individuals and businesses who have shown a long-term commitment and dedication to the City of Saint Paul and the Saint Paul Winter Carnival. Congratulations to our ownership team, Ted and Lynn Natus, for receiving the 2022 award and setting an incredible example for all of us!
